Today, we are going to talk about Cisco-Linksys AE1000 High-Performance Wireless-N USB Adapter that I use on my ASUS desktop to connect to my Cisco Wireless Router and lets you access the Internet wirelessly. I bought this 2-3 years ago, because I didn’t want to hard wired the cables to connect to my Home Network. Let's face it, too many wires laying around the house do not look good and you could potentially trip on them and fall. So if you don't want to see too many cables around the house, this is a great way of eliminating them. This is real easy to install. It comes with a CD (Setup Software & Documentation) that will walk you through the installation process.
How to set up the Linksys AE1000 wireless adapter.
Minimum system requirements:
- Computer with 1 GHz or faster processor
- Available USB port
- Windows XP SP3, Vista SP1, Windows 7
To set up Linksys AE1000 to your computer, follow the step by step instructions below:
Step 1: Insert the CD into your CD – ROM drive.
Step 2: Click Set up your Linksys Adapter.
If you do not see this, open the CD and double-click Setup.
Note: If the setup does not start automatically, you may have to refer to instructions on how to set it up manually.
Step 3: Follow on-screen instructions to install your Linksys Adapter.
Plug your Linksys Adapter to any available USB Port on your computer and you're done. I love the fact that there's no cables or wires and internet connection is still at a maximum speed like it should be. Anybody should be able to do this, so don't be afraid to do it yourself. If I can do it, so can you.
